Plastic Exhaust Air Scrubbers / Gas Scrubbers
BREUERaircare exhaust air scrubbers and gas scrubbers remove gaseous and liquid contaminants from exhaust air streams through physical or chemical absorption in a wet scrubbing process. The devices essentially consist of an absorption zone through which the exhaust air flows, featuring wetted packing or an intensive spray system, a downstream droplet eliminator, and a scrubbing liquid circulation system with measurement and control technology. The materials used are corrosion-resistant plastics, which are selected according to the medium, operating temperature, and other operating conditions. Possible materials: PE100, PP-H, PPs, PVDF, PVC, as well as PE and PPs in an electrically conductive configuration. Further information on the absorption process, areas of application, equipment options, and other components for exhaust air systems can be found on the BREUERaircare ⇒ main page.
The following are the exhaust air scrubber types from our standard range. Individual and customized designs are also possible.
Compact Exhaust Air Scrubber Type WSH-K
This design is often referred to as a "short scrubber" or "galvanic scrubber" and is essentially a droplet eliminator (type TAHpro) with a simple countercurrent spray system upstream via a scrubbing fluid circuit. The spray zone serves to agglomerate smaller contaminant droplets, prevent encrustation on the droplet eliminator, and, depending on the type and proportion, to absorb harmful gases.
- Droplet eliminator with two laterally removable lamella packs, optionally with a fine separator (demister, aerosol separator) made of wire mesh.
- Scrubber fluid tank and scrubbing fluid circuit with options for measurement and control technology and automatic scrubbing fluid renewal.
- Compact and very easy to maintain.
- The maintenance and operating side is available with right or left airflow.
- Also available in a special version for the separation of chromic acid.
Exhaust air scrubber types WSH and WSV
Gas scrubbers with intensive spray zone in horizontal or vertical design.
- Variable number of spray levels arranged in series with retractable nozzle lances.
- Removable straightener and outlet barrier at the gas inlet.
- Duct cross-section and number of spray levels depending on the cleaning task.
- High-performance droplet eliminator at the gas outlet.
- Scrubber liquid tank and scrubber liquid circuit with options for measurement and control technology and automatic operation.
- Design with horizontal (WSH) or vertical (WSV) air flow and with left or right-hand side operation and maintenance access.
- Very easy to maintain.
Exhaust air scrubber types WFH and WFV
Gas scrubbers with packing elements in horizontal and vertical designs.
- Absorption zone with scrubbing liquid distribution over packing elements for large mass transfer areas.
- High-performance droplet eliminator at the gas outlet.
- Absorption liquid tank with scrubbing liquid circuit with options for measurement and control technology and automatic operation.
- Duct cross-section and packing elements selected according to the cleaning task.
- Design with horizontal (WFH) and vertical (WFV) air flow and left- or right-hand side of the operating and maintenance side.
- Very easy to maintain.
Tank Air Absorber / Absorption Vessel Type TLA
For cleaning vapors escaping from chemical tanks during normal operation and tank filling.
- Cleans escaping air and prevents the escape of odors using the absorption vessel principle.
- The air escaping from the tank is distributed through a liquid reservoir.
- For less critical and low-outgassing filling media in the tank.
- Connection to the tank vent.
- With vacuum relief for supplying air to the tank, e.g., during liquid withdrawal.
- Corrosion-resistant and durable. Housing material made of PE, optionally electrically conductive.
- For tanks up to 20,000 liters capacity.
- The liquid reservoir can be continuously renewed during tank filling with fresh water or absorbent and discharged via the overflow, or it can be replaced discontinuously.
Tank Air Scrubber / Absorption Vessel Type TLA-S
For cleaning vapors of "critical media" escaping from chemical tanks during normal operation and tank filling.
The Tank Air Absorber Type TLA-S operates in normal operation like the TLA type, based on the principle that the contaminated air escaping from the chemical tank is dispersed through a liquid seal under pressure. However, when filling the chemical tank, the air is additionally passed through a sprayed packing layer, thus increasing the absorption capacity.
- Suitable for more critical tank filling media such as hydrochloric acid, ammonia, and hydrofluoric acid.
- Particularly suitable for large tank volumes.
- For a gas flow rate of up to 50 m3/h.
- Connection to the tank vent port.
- With vacuum relief for supplying air to the container, e.g., during liquid withdrawal.
- Corrosion-resistant and durable. Housing material: PE, optionally electrically conductive.
- The liquid supply is automatically renewed by the spraying.
Optional TLA-S upgrade with scrubbing liquid tank and absorbent recirculation:
- The TLA-S is mounted on top of the tank.
- Scrubbing liquid recirculation.
- Ability to drain used scrubbing liquid via a circulation pump or discharge pump.
- Ability to measure conductivity and pH.
- Ability to dosing chemicals.
- Ability to heat.
- With drip tray (according to the German Water Act) and leakage probe.
Gas scrubbers for ammonia separation from biogas and sewage sludge drying.
For the removal of ammonia from biogas or ammonia and hydrogen sulfide from the exhaust air of sewage sludge drying using wet scrubbers, BREUER supplies the compact scrubber unit made of PE (also available in an electrically conductive PE-el version), with a collection device and a dosing station with a weatherproof enclosure for dosing sulfuric acid from an IBC into the scrubbing liquid circuit.
